The original photograph documents an impromptu ‘performance-remembrance’ during the exhibition ‘Secrets’, The Hague, Holland, The Lewis Carroll title is the installation of a row of oranges and sheets of ‘blank’ paper attached to the gallery wall behind. The work is by that of Alan Woods, historian, art crtic and close friend who died only a fortnight previously. He’d given me instructions to exhibit three sheets of paper with the words ‘What I tell you three times is true’ written in lemon juice [invisible ink}.
